Today is the official 8 weeks mark. Time seems to have slowed down from when I thought I was 8 weeks and then 9, but I guess that's just because I've already read about what's going on in there and didn't have that to look forward to today. The yet to be developed he or she is supposed to be the size of a kidney bean. I'm not showing yet (and wont for a while ^_^) but I decided to start taking pics of the progress anyway. Here's me, 8 weeks, in my comfy Hooters shirt, and only a tiny bit bloated (I had to wait until this morning to achieve the minimal bloating feat):
So far our names are Chloe (my fav!) or Michaela for a girl or Xavier for a boy.

Can you SMELL what the Phoenix is COOKING?!??!!?
I sure hope not. But there's definitely a ton of weirdness cooking in there. Mom told me she never really had morning sickness...and I always hoped I wouldn't either. So far, I've only had one bout with it, and I think that was because I had a cold to get rid of. I'm just not naturally the type to vomit anyway. In lieu of proper morning sickness and nausea (which I SWEAR I didn't even know what nausea really felt like until maybe a year ago) I get:
~ Mini coughing sessions when I get in the office in the am, complete with one or two dry heaves.
~ PAINFUL gas. I mean, I didn't think gas pressure could hurt like this but its a damn mess.
~ Super fatigue. I feel like I DON'T sit at a desk all day every day. Like I'm marathon training or on P90X or something.
I know if I can up my water intake to something preggo normal it would help with a lot of that stuff, but its hard. I don't normally drink a lot of water (or anything not warm in winter) anyway. I'm glad it should start warming up soon though; maybe I'll have better chances getting more in me if I'm hot.
I would apologize for the slight graphic nature of this and the coming posts, but hell, the more you know, the more you can prepare for. It's not fun doing this blind and dumb. I got What to Expect When You're Expecting and so far its been a pretty good resource. I got some prenatal vitamin samples from the doctor and had to figure out which one was the best for me with the help of the book. I think I'm going to get a pregnancy journal soon just so I can write down everything that's happening...or I might just stick to this blog...who wants to printout pictures and stuff anyway? Ehh, we'll see...I've been using Barnes and Noble for retail therapy lately, since there's so much going on and I can justify my book purchases and such.
Owwww, my tummy is full of air *sad face*

So....
...I'm PREGNANT.
Friday will be 8 weeks. I've got to make it to 40. I am:
Overwhelmed. Surprised. Freaked out. Amazed. Sad. Excited. Awestruck. In research mode. Shocked.
Going To Be A MOTHER.
