11 Weeks

A bit late, but I'm tired/busy/pregnant/tried/exhausted/tired or whatever. Pick an excuse and run with it.

Gained some more weight this week.

So basically, for a while it will just be me getting fatter until the real baby bump comes in, lol. Getting to next week is going to be exciting though, I can't wait to not be dead tired anymore. For a while at least (until I get super huge and its the middle of summer).

This week in baby development:

  • Nearly all structures and organs are formed and beginning to function.
  • Fingers and toes have separated
  • Hair and nails begin to grow (I read somewhere that started last week, but have found more sources that say this week)
  • The genitals begin to take on the proper gender characteristics (still can't tell though...I get that ultrasound around 18 weeks)
  • Amniotic fluid begins to accumulate as the kidneys begin to function
  • The muscles in the intestinal walls begin to practice contractions that digest food
  • Baby is about 1.61 inches (4.1 cm) long and weighs 0.25 ounce (7gm).
This week there are still more headaches. These are NOT fun, but I've only popped two Tylenol so far, so that's good I guess. I've also been drinking more water...which is usually hard for me but now that I'm getting used to it it's not so bad.
