She got a baby gym for Christmas and LOVES it!
She has got to be the happiest baby on the planet. I've never seen so many smiles in my life. It makes me wonder if I was that happy when I was that little....and then wonder what happened after that (I was an angry teenager...although a lot probably are). We know something is really wrong with her when she isn't happy...like when she got her first cold.
On the very first day of the year, we venture to The Husband's parent's house to eat and retrieve our munchkin after a night of bringing in the new year, and we find her fussy and upset. This was not the way we thought the year would begin! She was congested, her nose was running, and she was warmer than normal. We took our disgruntled Chloe home and worked on keeping her temperature down over the next few days, which isn't all that easy when your patient is only 3.5 months old. We couldn't give her any medicine and basically had to live at the mercy of her cries and do our best to make her feel better. The problem though, is that she hated EVERYTHING we could do to make her feel better too!
She didn't really like having saline put in her nose, hated having the mess sucked back out, and absolutely loathed that we had to keep wiping cold gunk off of her little delicate eyes. Oh, and the cool baths to get her temperature to come back down were the worst. I didn't think they were going to work because she spent the entire bath time screaming at the top of her lungs. Since those were the only ways we could make her feel better, we had to do what we had to do. The Husband said it best: "Babies and colds don't mix."

Yaay, healthy Chloe is back!
We did get to have some fun time over the last month though, like CHRISTMAS! In normal American fashion, Chloe got more gifts than everyone and had no idea how to open them, what was going on, or anything. She was her normal cheerful self through all of the festivities, and I think she really liked wearing her Christmas dress (which I forgot to take a picture of her in >_<). A few days after Christmas I did manage to get a picture of her "opening" a gift though:
This month brought a visit to the doctor's office. After getting to office nice and on time for my 10:30 appointment, we got to sit and wait for the doctor to get there, around 11:45. There was some kind of scheduling issue, so I dealt with it. Her stats this time were 24 inches long, 12 lbs 12 oz, and her head is 40 cm. The doctor said she was a skinny baby, but everything else was on track. She got two shots and some oral medicine this time and didn't cry until after the second shot. I got her to look at herself in a mirror and she calmed down. Luckily she was sleepy too, and went right to sleep on the way home and slept for a good while.

Enjoying a "snack" while waiting
This is an exciting stage in her life...we've been cleared to start feeding her baby food! We're going to start with rice cereal and move on to carrots, squash, and sweet potatoes, and then maybe some fruit. The doctor let me know that in a couple of months we can add meat like ground up chicken. I can't wait!
Oh CRIB UPDATE: sleeping in her crib, in her room, has been pretty awesome for us. We both get to sleep more and better and when one of us gets up with her we disturb the other a whole lot less. Before she got sick we could even make it through the whole night pretty often. The transition went really well too...I popped her in one night and she was fine with it. After I got some good sleep that night I was fine with it too, lol.
